Usui Reiki Ryoho is a non-invasive therapeutic technique used to promote relaxation and encourage stress reduction by balancing physical, mental, and emotional energy. In a session, the Reiki practitioner serves as a conduit for universal life energy to flow to the client in response to their unique needs. Reiki sessions can include light laying on of hands, hands hovering over the client’s body, or completely touch-free remote sessions, depending on the preferences of the client.
Usui Reiki Ryoho was developed by Mikao Usui in early 1900’s Japan. The practice headed west in the 1930’s and has evolved into more than 30 varieties of Reiki healing modalities, though Usui remains the most popular form. Usui Reiki neither requires nor adheres to any religious practices and is used by people from all cultures and belief systems.
There are no known adverse side effects for this therapeutic experience. Reiki continues to grow in professional spaces, including highly reputable hospitals and medical practices as a complementary wellness modality.
